How a WNBA playoff bracket pool will work
Once the eight-team playoff field is set, you fill in the whole bracket: who wins each first-round series, who wins the semifinals, and who takes the Finals. You can also call how many games a series goes. Every pick is locked in before the playoffs start.
Points rise by round, so a correct Finals pick is worth more than a correct first-round one, and a champion you called in advance is the biggest swing on the board. Series lengths follow the league's playoff format for the season; lately the first round has been a best of three and the Finals a best of seven.
What the manager will set
- Who can join, and how many members the pool takes — from 2 to 30.
- The pool's name and description, so the group chat knows which bracket is theirs.
- Nothing about the bracket itself: the field and the series come from the league's own results, so the manager fills in a bracket on the same terms as everyone else.

Common questions
Can I fill in my bracket before the playoff field is set?
Not until the eight teams and their seeds are known — there is nothing to pick before then. The pool itself can be set up and the group invited ahead of time.
What if my champion goes out in the first round?
You lose the points that team would have earned in later rounds, but every other correct series still counts. Plenty of brackets win without the champion when the rest of the sheet is strong.
