Installing Sportpoolz on your phone

Add Sportpoolz to your phone's home screen for a full-screen app and a bottom tab bar built for thumbs — no app store, nothing to download.

What installing does

Installing adds a real Sportpoolz icon to your phone's home screen that opens the site full screen with no browser bar or tabs — the same account and pools, just a faster way in.

Sportpoolz is not a separate app you download from a store. "Installing" means your phone saves a shortcut to the site with its own icon, and opens that shortcut full screen instead of inside a browser tab.

  • Nothing to download or update from an app store — your phone builds it from the site itself, in a few seconds.
  • Same account, same pools, same picks. Installing changes how you get in, not what you get.
  • The browser still works exactly as before. You can install it and keep opening sportpoolz.com in Safari or Chrome too — nothing about your account depends on which one you use.

It's free either way. Installing costs nothing and unlocks nothing extra — it's purely a faster, full-screen way to open the same site.

Installing on iPhone

On an iPhone, open sportpoolz.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen — Chrome and in-app browsers on iPhone can't do this step.

This only works in Safari itself. Chrome, Firefox and Edge on iPhone all run on Apple's required engine underneath, but only Safari can add a site to the home screen as a full-screen app — a shortcut made from any of the others, or from the browser built into an app like Instagram or Facebook, just reopens inside that app instead of opening full screen.

  1. 1 Open sportpoolz.com in Safari.
  2. 2 Tap the Share icon in Safari's toolbar (a square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. 3 Scroll down the sheet that opens and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. 4 Tap Add in the top-right corner. Sportpoolz appears on your home screen with its own icon, ready to open full screen.
Safari only — Chrome, Facebook and other in-app browsers on iPhone can't install a site.

Already on this page in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or an app like Instagram or Facebook? None of them can install Sportpoolz this way — open Safari directly and go to sportpoolz.com, or tap that app's Share or ⋯ icon and choose Open in Safari, then follow the steps above from there.

Installing on Android

On Android, open sportpoolz.com in Chrome and tap Install app when it's offered, or use Chrome's menu to add it yourself.

Chrome can install a site with one tap once it decides you're a returning visitor — usually not on the very first visit, so don't worry if the prompt doesn't show up immediately.

  1. 1 Open sportpoolz.com in Chrome.
  2. 2 When Sportpoolz's own Install app button appears, tap it and confirm Install in the prompt Chrome shows.
  3. 3 No prompt yet? Tap Chrome's ⋮ menu in the top-right and choose Add to Home screen or Install app instead.
  4. 4 Sportpoolz appears on your home screen with its own icon, ready to open full screen.
Chrome decides when to offer the prompt — usually after a couple of visits, not the first.

Desktop Chrome can install Sportpoolz too, from the install icon in the address bar — the same underlying feature, on a laptop instead of a phone.

What's different once it's installed

Opened from its home-screen icon, Sportpoolz fills the screen and swaps the sidebar for a bottom tab bar — Pools, Picks, Teams, Friends and More — built for one-thumb use.

The pages themselves are identical to the browser version. What changes is the chrome around them: no address bar, no browser tabs, and navigation moves to a bar along the bottom instead of the sidebar drawer.

The bottom tab bar that replaces the sidebar once Sportpoolz is installed and opened from its icon.
  • Pools, Picks, Teams and Friends (or Stats, if friends are off) sit one tap away along the bottom, plus a More sheet for everything else the sidebar carries.
  • Picks always opens straight to whichever pool needs your attention next, whether that's a pick that's due or a tiebreaker still open.
  • Scores, standings and picks are exactly as live as they are in a browser tab — nothing is stored for offline use, because picks and standings only mean anything with a live connection.

No connection shows a plain "You're offline" page with a retry button instead of the browser's own error screen — the one thing installing changes about being offline.

Removing it

Removing the Sportpoolz icon is like removing any other app — nothing happens to your account, pools or picks, which all live on the server and stay reachable at sportpoolz.com.

The icon is a shortcut, not a copy of your data, so taking it off your home screen deletes nothing. Your account, your pools and every pick you've made are stored on the server exactly as they were before you installed.

  1. 1 Press and hold the Sportpoolz icon on your home screen.
  2. 2 Choose Remove App or Delete App (iPhone) or Remove or Uninstall (Android).
  3. 3 Sportpoolz stays exactly where it was, at sportpoolz.com — open it in a browser and sign in any time, or install it again the same way.
